Matthew Harridge is the Chairman for Veta Youth. Outside of this role, he has a 15 year background in engineering and is a Director of a successful traffic and transport engineering consultancy. His qualifications include a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil)(Hons) and Bachelor of Science (Geology). Matthew also has significant experience in church and youth leadership and sits on the board of Flinders Christian Community College in Victoria.
Jeanette Woods has over 40 years’ experience in education in both government and independent schools, and was Head of the Tyabb campus at Flinders Christian Community College until 2008. She has also worked as an Executive Officer for Christian Schools Australia and served as a missionary in Indonesia for nearly 10 years. Her qualifications are M.Ed, B.D(MCD), B.A., Dip.Ed and she has been involved in ministry and mentoring for many years.
Rohan Waters is the Executive Director for Veta Youth. Rohan is an ordained minister and a registered teacher. He has worked in youth ministry for 20 years, including local church, chaplaincy and denominational youth director roles. Rohan has been developing VETA since 2003, and in 2010 was awarded the Farmington Fellowship to study at Oxford University, where he developed VETA’s model for supporting the spiritual development of students. His qualifications include Bachelor of Education, Bachelor of Theology and Advanced Diploma of Ministry.
The Reverend Mark Riessen
Mark is the Co-ordinator for Mission and Community Engagement with Churches of Christ in SA & NT. For the past 15 years Mark has pastored churches in Ferntree Gully, Vic and Blackwood, SA. Currently a director for the Stirling Theological College board where he is completing his Masters in Theological Studies. Mark is also on the adjunct faculty for the Uniting College in Adelaide, a member of the board of reference for Urban Neighbours Of Hope & Stop the Traffik and co-ordinates Surrender Conference in SA. Mark is a passionate advocate for asylum seekers and for more than 12 years has been working closely with asylum seekers and refugees in detention, campaigning on their behalf and assisting with community integration while in their final stages of processing.
Shannon Hood brings a variety of experience to the Veta board. He co-founded Delta Ministries, the organisation who first ran Vetamorphus in South Australia. His employment background includes Senior Consultant and Senior Manager with Deloitte, Lecturer/Course Coordinator with University of South Australia, Director and Trainer for Delta Ministries, Grassroots Training and The Pines Training Centre, consulting and training services. His qualifications include Cert IV in TAE, Grad Dip of Ministry, Cert lll in Community Services, Bachelor of Theology, Master of Education, Master of Commerce and Bachelor of Manufacturing Engineering (Hons.)”
Robyn Phillips brings a variety of experiences to her role on the Veta Board. She has previously worked as a Veta Coordinator delivering the Vetamorphus program in Western Australia. Robyn has worked for several training organisations and her current role is with the Australian Institute of Family Counselling (aifc), Australia’s largest Christian Counselling training provider. Her work history includes working as an occupational therapist in community psychiatry and aged care, and providing counselling services and various training roles. Robyn has also served over 10 years as a member and chairperson on a Christian College board. Her qualifications include Cert IV TAE, Diploma of Counselling, Diploma of Management, Diploma of Theology, Advanced Diploma of Counselling and Family Therapy (Christian), Bachelor of Science (Occupational Therapy) and she is completing a Graduate Diploma in Counselling and Integrated Psychotherapy (Spiritual)
Veta Youth runs national discipleship programs which focus on raising up a generation of young leaders to reach beyond the potential they see in themselves into the potential God has prepared for them.
